How to share your VPN/INTERNET network with another pc

It has been discovered that most of those who are using virtual private network (VPN) love to share their network with their friends, but you just discover that is not working. Yes it won't just work because you need to put some settings in order before it can work. This is a power of setting up your pc to act like router
in other for you to share your VPN network with others. This VPN am talking about could be your modem or any other form as long as it is a private network.

At the end of this tutorial you will be able to share your internet with your friends using pc orWi-Fi enable smartphones. I have tried to make this tutorial as simple as possible for everybody to understand.

Note: this tutorial was only tested on window 7 and 8, but am sure it will also work for win vista

How I share my VPN/INTERNET network with my friend 

Step 1: click the start button.

Step 2:  type CMD in the search box, and press enter.The command prompt will pop up.

Step 3: at this stage, you will need to check if the drives are properly installed. So what you need to do is to type ''netshwlan show drivers'' without quote (‘’) and press enter.

Step 4: if it says "YES" after "hosted network supported".
That means everything is ok but if “NO” is then you will need to find hosted network supported and install the drivers.

Step 5: Now you need to create a network you want to share with SSID and PASSWORD. What I did was that I choose a name like sholey4love as my SSID and my password as money123.

 So for you to do that, type this in the command prompt: netshwlan set hostednetworkmode=allow ssid=sholey4love key=money123. Press enter

Step 6: To start your Wi-Fi network , you will type in the command prompt: netshwlan start hostednetwork.

If it shows: the hosted network started like the one below, then it is ok. But if it says "hosted network couldn’t be started" that means your Wi-Fi driver is outdated so you need to update to latest version from official website. Once you have updated it, repeat step 6 again.

Step 7: to share Wi-Fi connection.

Right click on the Wi-Fi icon at the right hand corner of your screen and select "open network and sharing canter"

Step 8: go to change adapter settings. Right click on the VPN are you created before I.e sholey4love, then choose properties and go to sharing tap, make sure the two box are ticked and click ok.

Final stage

Now for your friend to connect to your pc via smart phone or pc.

Your friend should search for available Wi-Finetwork and your network(sholey4love) will display.

Once it show and he tries to connect, it will request for password. All you need to do is to use the password we created in step 5 which is ‘’money123’’.

Once this is done, instantly it will connect.

Summary

Provided the required software are installed and updated

Step 1: Open command prompt

Step 2: Create SSID and PASSWORD of your choice. The ssid and password I use below is ‘sholey4love’ and ‘money123’. So you need to edit the one in step 3 below.

Step 3: Type in the command prompt: netshwlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=sholey4love key=money123.

Step 4: press enter

To connect to other pc

Open Wi-Fi network and it will automatically find the network you created.

To connect, press connect and it will request for password. Enter password you create.

Press ok
