Gerard Pique not insulted the linesman during the second leg of the Supercopa of Spain in the Camp Nou against Athletic Bilbao. According to the Football Club Barcelona, its central received an unfair red card because all he did was use "a very typical Catalan expression" to be out of context.
The Catalan side, as it did the Pique after apologizing himself, ensures that the player did not insult the wizard. Simply he used an expression, "the whore mare", to "give more emphasis to the previous sentence and express displeasure or anger."
An excuse that the judge has not accepted Competition, to be considered as "flimsy arguments" justifications of the Catalan club. "There is no doubt that such claims are no more than a smokescreen to an insult meridian and therefore disrespectful to one of the components of the referees," he explains. Also, for competition, the RFEF Disciplinary Code not only contemplates "insulting", but also "to offend or go in terms or insulting attitudes."
Gerard Pique has been banned for four games suspension and 3,005 euro fine for insulting the assistant judge severely during the second leg of the Supercopa of Spain, so will miss the first game of the Liga against Athletic Club, Malaga, Atletico Madrid and Levante.
